A commercial laundry operation in Juneau offers a full range of services and has the capability to process over four thousand pounds of laundry per day. While the facility is primarily dedicated to providing laundry services for the Alaska Marine Highway System, other local government and non-profit agencies benefit from using Industries superior services. Strict quality standards are maintained within each labor-intensive function of this highly efficient laundry operation.
Industries provide employment for approximately 34 inmates. During summer peak season, extra inmates are hired for evening shifts. The Prison Industries provides services for Lemon Creek Correctional Center needs and for Alaska Marine Highway System. Inmates are expected to develop good work habits and work hard.
The laundry is a massive operation which employees several male inmates to provide laundry services to LCCC and the Alaska State Ferry System.
